CGI Group Inc. is the fifth largest independent information technology and business process services firm in the world. Approximately 68,000 professionals serve thousands of global clients from offices and delivery centres across the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific, leveraging a comprehensive portfolio of IT services. CGI IT UK has three offices based in South Wales.
The previous environment at CGI did not cater to the expanding number of call centre staff located at its Waterton site in Bridgend. The team had a choice to lease another building nearby, or utilise the existing site by converting a print room into office space and meeting rooms by stripping out existing internal structures and fittings, expanding washroom facilities and adding in extra tea point stations.
The client wanted to achieve an extra 200 workstations in an open plan, sound-absorbing office environment.
To avoid sound levels from escalating within the call centre and to prevent high background noise, our team worked closely with Saint-Gobain Ecophon to install acoustic solutions at CGI. A high quality, sound-absorbing ceiling, acoustic wall panels and doors were introduced into the office space to effectively reduce noise disturbance between co-workers.
An air handling unit was included within the new office to circulate air efficiently whilst also providing super low noise levels. A raised access floor was also fitted through the office area for power and data distribution.
Our team also worked alongside leading manufacturers Venesta to fit modern toilet cubicles and panelling to the new washroom facilities at CGI, with all demolition, mechanical and electrical works carried out by our in-house team.
